THETFORD TWP., Mich. (WNEM) – A former elementary school is transforming into a community center and business incubator.
The former Lacure Elementary School in Thetford Township is renting rooms to small businesses and non-profit organizations. An open house is scheduled for Oct. 7 at 4:30 p.m. at the new Lacure Community Center, located at 12167 Lewis Road in Thetford Township, the center said.
There will be tours of the new business incubator, and the human resource center and food pantry, the center said.
The community center currently has 16 start-up businesses, meeting rooms, the Safety Net Store and the Human Resource Room, the center said. Two classrooms will be providing assistance to low-income children and families across the northern tier of Genesee County.
