MIRAMAR, Fla. – Authorities confirmed that a car crashed into a dialysis facility in Miramar early New Year’s Day, causing significant structural damage and sending three people to the hospital with minor injuries.
The crash occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. in the 3100 block of University Drive.
Investigators said the driver of the car told them a tool became lodged under the brake pedal, preventing the vehicle from stopping.
The vehicle jumped a curb, became airborne, and crashed into the Pure Life Renal of Miramar at 3180 S. University Dr., according to authorities.
Authorities said Miramar Fire Rescue transported the three adult occupants to Memorial Regional Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
A Local 10 News crew at the scene observed the business’s front glass window shattered, with a red “unsafe building” sign posted on its front door.
No other details about the crash were immediately released.
