Georgia business empowering military veterans to find community after deployment – Atlanta News First

DECATUR, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – Readjusting to normal life after deployment is no easy task.
ReSupply understands that. They are aiming to create a safe space for military men and women to find community again through supporting local organizations.
“It is hard transitioning from protecting in a different capacity, like I said before, and deploying so much for your country. I was under the Special Forces group, so our demand was high. We rapidly deployed all the time. We had 11 deployments,” said Chief Warrant Officer 2 Nick Gonzalez, Senior Director of Operations for ReSupply.
The company wants to help military members coming home from active duty find camaraderie once again.
“A lot of veterans, when they get out, they struggle with not really having a higher purpose anymore,” said Master Sgt (ret.) Charles Appleby, Partnerships Manager at ReSupply.
ReSupply picks up items people want to donate and then drops them off at charities like Goodwill. They charge a fee to cover the cost of pickup but say they make sure the charity gets the items at no cost. Another part of their mission is to keep furniture out of landfills.
“Our entire operations team is run by military veterans,” said 1LT Paul Tocci Founder and CEO of ReSupply. “Being able to see folks who have done so much already for the country that have served in the military, who have worn the uniform, that now have a new mission.”
“I think my purpose when I was in the military was completely different I always look at it as, I went from protecting my nation in a different capacity, to now turning around and giving back to the community and give back to those in need,” said Gonzalez.
ReSupply also has a military transition program. This is where folks getting off of Active duty can intern with the company.
FROM RESUPPLY: “ReSupply charges a fee to cover the cost of the pickup, keeping donations available at no cost to charities. ReSupply is about 30% cheaper than a local mover or hauler, and we will provide a donation tax receipt for your donated items after the pickup is completed. Pricing is based on the number and size of the items you need picked up, as well as things like how many staircases we need to traverse, items we need to disassemble, or non-donatable items. Call today or go online for an upfront and transparent quote for your donation pickup.”
