After a decade of decline, the MBA degree seems poised for a rebound, according to new research released last week from Validated Insights, a marketing agency specializing in higher education.
MBA graduates, enrollments, and applications started trending up as of 2024, while the MBA job market is improving even as the labor market as a whole tightens. That growth is projected to continue through 2030 at a 3.2% CAGR (compound annual growth rate).

For the tenth time in 13 years, Indiana University’s Kelley Direct online MBA program has toppedU.S. News’ ranking of the best online MBA programs in the U.S. It is an unprecedented record of success in a highly cluttered and competitive market.
The 2025 list, published this week, ranks 355 different online MBAs out of more than 700 options that now exist in the U.S. alone.
