As the second half of the season begins, PSG has managed to persuade the investment platform Bitpanda, specializing in cryptocurrencies, to become one of its main partners.
The Parisian club remains an attractive entity for sponsors. Despite the team’s challenging position in the Champions League as they approach the final two matchdays of the group stage, they officially announced on Thursday the arrival of a prestigious international partner. Following the non-renewal of their previous cryptocurrency sponsor agreement signed in September 2021 for three years, Paris Saint-Germain seized the opportunity to attract a new company. This progress was marked by a “strategic partnership” with the Austrian platform Bitpanda, which has already established agreements with several other top European clubs such as Bayern Munich and AC Milan, as well as notable athletes like Antoine Dupont and Alexander Zverev, along with the NFL. The company’s founder, Eric Demuth, expressed in a statement that he sees PSG as “more than just a football club.”
PSG Viewed as “a Global Icon”
In his eyes, the capital club is “a global icon of culture, lifestyle, and sporting excellence” that aligns perfectly with the image of his company’s “high-end financial brand.” The Austrian executive assured that this partnership with the current Ligue 1 leaders would enhance his company’s position as “the leading cryptocurrency platform in Europe.” As for Paris Saint-Germain, which has remained silent on the specifics of the agreement with Bitpanda, they view this as “the club’s commitment to collaborating with forward-thinking brands that enrich its legacy as a global symbol of culture, lifestyle, and sporting excellence.” Nicola Ibbetson, the club’s global partnerships director, added, “This partnership illustrates our shared commitment to innovation and excellence, providing unique opportunities for us to connect with our fans worldwide and to shape the future of digital engagement in sports.”
