Kansas City is springing back to life after businesses and residents did their best to take the snow days in stride.
Now, city street crews are working to clear roads covered in snow and ice. The city is asking for help in identifying roads that need attention.
Residents can report these streets through the myKCMO app, which has geolocation features.
Officials also emphasized that snowplows have been working diligently, and that people should remain patient as best as possible.
That’s what first-time business owner Tamara Grubb has been doing. Grubb said navigating the snowstorm has been a learning curve.
“We relied so much on foot traffic here in the Westport area, and the tourism and all of those things that just being open doesn’t make sense. And from a safety perspective, you know,” said Grubb, who owns Triple Crown Coffee.
Grubb said she was a little unprepared, so next time there’s a storm, she’ll have to come up with some new ideas.
“Unfortunately we’ve got some food waste and things like that. just not being open as long as we weren’t able to be open,” she said. “We like to keep our stuff really fresh. And, so. Yeah, absolutely. Probably doing a fire sale.”
