BIG RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, MI — Customers were inside a business at the Bulldog Square shopping center here Tuesday, Dec. 31, when someone shot a projectile that penetrated the structure’s walls, Mecosta County sheriff’s officials reported.
There were no injuries during the incident, Deputy Scott Morgan stated in a news release.
He did not indicate which business was involved in the 4:30 p.m. shooting and did not provide specifics on the type of projectile that penetrated the wall.
Morgan said investigators are asking individuals with information about the shooting to contact the sheriff’s office at (231) 592-0150 or via email at tips@mecostasheriff.org.
The Big Rapids-based outdoor shopping mall is located less than a half-mile south from Ferris State University’s main campus facilities and across the street from a Big Rapids Township Fire Department station.
